We know this because we’ve seen a copy of a draft trial timetable from the High Court.

He’s not needed by the court today, but he may want to show up given its the first day of the trial.

When it comes to giving evidence, Prince Harry has previous experience. In 2023 he spent a number of days in the witness box during the case he brought against Mirror Group Newspapers.

It was a big moment as he become the first royal in modern times to go into the witness box in that way.

  2. Associated Newspapers Limited denies 'preposterous' allegationspublished at 09:10 GMT

Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) has been accused in this case of "grave breaches of privacy" by the seven claimants.

The organisation has repeatedly denied the allegations - which it calls "lurid" and "preposterous".

It was unsuccessful in its attempt to get the case thrown out in 2023 by arguing the claims had been brought "far too late".

Lawyers for the claimants successfully argued that new evidence had come to light, and they did not know how information was being covertly acquired at the time.

As a reminder, this is a civil case - not a criminal one - and is being heard in the High Court.

Typically at the end of a civil case, a judge would issue financial damages to the successful party.

If there aren’t any delays the court session should get under way at 10.30 GMT, with people arriving at the Royal Courts of Justice now.

Once the hearing starts both sides will provide opening submissions. These are statements which can be delivered both orally and in writing. Each side will use them to outline their case and what the disputes are to assist the judge.

First we should hear from barrister David Sherborne for the claimants. Antony White KC for Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) will then deliver his opening.

A draft trial timetable we’ve seen shows that this part of the trial is expected to take around three days.

  4. Prince Harry is not the only high-profile claimant in this casepublished at 09:05 GMT

An old court building in overcast London morning. There's some camera crews poised outside. The building is grand with gothic arches and lots of small towers.

Good morning from court, where Prince Harry is due to take on another publishing giant over what he claims was unlawful information gathering.

He's accusing Associated Newspapers Ltd (ANL), publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, of obtaining information for stories unlawfully.

He is joined by several other high-profile claimants, including actress Elizabeth Hurley and Baroness Doreen Lawrence.

ANL has strongly denied the accusations, labelling them "lurid".

It's the prince's third trial against a press company, and has been in the making for years. The trial - which is civil not criminal - is due to last into March. Prince Harry is due to give evidence later this week.

Stick with us - as I now go and jostle for a seat in court...
