    Rising groundwater levels are expected to cause flooding. Flooding is expected from 19th January 2026 onwards. Groundwater levels in Cranborne Chase remain high. Areas that could be affected include: Iwerne Minster. The groundwater level at the Iwerne Hill Farm borehole has risen to 109.77m, and is expected to remain high. Further bands of rain are forecast over the next few days. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. Flooding of roads is expected, please take care when driving. We are closely monitoring the situation . If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on. Think about alternative power sources in case of power cuts Please do not drive through floodwater as this may cause bow waves.     Rising groundwater levels are expected to cause flooding. Flooding is expected from 19th January 2026 onwards. Groundwater levels in West Dorset remain high. Areas that could be affected include: Winterbourne Abbas, Winterbourne Steepleton, Martinstown, Winterbourne Monkton, Winterbourne Herringston and Winterbourne Came. The groundwater level at the Kingston Russell borehole has risen to 116.56m, and is expected to rise further over the next few days. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. Flooding of roads is expected. Roads may be damaged by floodwater. We are closely monitoring the situation . If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on.     High river levels since the 16th January are expected to cause flooding and further rainfall showers are forecast over the next several days, and therefore river levels will remain high. During periods of high tide the River Nene will be unable to discharge into the sea, resulting in tide lock conditions. This is likely to lead to localised flooding of the North Bank Road, between Peterborough and Rings End. Whilst this Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority will close North Bank Road. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. Refer to local authority website for road closures.     High tides tomorrow morning may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide on Tuesday morning until Friday evening. Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths. Areas particularly at risk include Torbay, Teignmouth, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton and Dawlish. The high tide at Exmouth on Tuesday is at 07:45AM, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 2.26mAOD, which is 0.36 metres above tide table level. Force 7 southerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 1.3m are forecast over the high tide. We are closely monitoring the situation and closing flood gates.     This is a Flood Alert Update. River levels are steady but remain high at the Stinsford river gauge as a result of the ground being saturated and the recent rainfall. Flooding could still affect locations near the Lower Dorset Frome tributaries between Dorchester and Wareham, with low lying land and roads near rivers expected to be most affected. There is very little rain forecast for today 19 January 2026, but another band of moderate rainfall is expected tomorrow afternoon. We are closely monitoring the situation.     River levels have risen on the Rivers Yeo and Parrett as a result of yesterday’s rainfall. Low lying land and roads are expected to be most affected by flooding. Flooding will affect the road from Langport to Muchelney if the drain level at Huish Episcopi pumping station exceeds 7.3 m. For the latest river and drain levels refer to https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels. River levels are high and the Parrett Relief Channel is running. We are pumping when river levels and tides allow. The weather remains unsettled. Today will be largely dry but a small amount of rain is possible.
